While growing up, BMRA Founder & Editor-In-Chief Harun Momanyi loved fashion. However, he never had a chance to dress up the way he wanted or express his style.
Despite being bullied in school and called “ugly” by his jealous classmates, he was confident in his looks and saw that as a stepping stone to become a leading voice in fashion globally.
In 2010, he bumped into an issue of Tatler UK magazine. It featured Monica Bellucci’s Estée Lauder back cover advert. He instantly fell in love with the fashion publishing business. Over the years, he established himself as leading journalist and blogger in Kenya, earning accolades along the way.
In 2016, he launched Tranquil Communications & PR, the parent company of BMRA. In 2018, he was nominated for the Forbes Africa 30Under30 list as a promising entrepreneur. He was also shortlisted for the BBC Komla Dumor award.
Fast-forward to now, he is an influencer creating a platform where even the less known models can be featured and launch their careers.
BMRA was launched in 2015 to provide a platform for fashion models to grow their brands and link them to jobs, cover the latest fashion news in the continent and revolutionize the publishing industry.
It is quickly growing to be the brand trendy millennials look up to for fashion modeling news and updates.
