In the digital age, the term brand ambassador is common but trust me there are only a few that stand out of the crowd. Some do it solely for the money but South African model Lihle Nkosi is one of a kind – at a tender age of 19, she’s swiftly adding more and more successful projects to her resume.
The Bonang Matheba inspired, down-to-earth lady is a Law Student who’s got loads of interesting stuff going on in her life. She currently holds titles of Hair City South Africa Brand Ambassador, Sorme Cosmetics SA model and LEAD SA Ambassador.
Some of her previous achievements include being Miss Mpumalanga Teen 2012, Best Actress Mpumalanga 2015 – courtesy of Four 13 Productions as well as Miss Summer Heat Mpumalanga.
As one of the future leaders of LEAD SA, a Pimedia Broadcasting intiative, she aims to encourage her fellow youth to stand up and lead their country. She perfectly knows that to succeed in this tumultuous industry, she needs to work with the best of the best in the industry, as it can be crafty.
Lihle is currently signed to Hilary Pace Models, one of the leading modeling agencies in the country.
On how she started brand ambassadorship:
“Well, I am constantly trying to grow myself as an individual and as a brand because of my fear of mediocrity, haha. It can be a very powerful motivator but it’s one that comes at a heavy price.”
On whether it was easy starting out modeling:
It wasn’t easy, you need to set yourself apart from everyone else and work hard for it.”
As if that’s not enough, she will be the face of a campaign for a cosmetics company, and that’s going to be her starter for 2017.
Speaking of the biggest lesson she has gotten from her modeling career, which started off at a young age, Lihle sounds perfectly aware of what’s needed of anyone who wants to excel in this vast realm.
“Well, if there’s any advice I can give to the youth as a whole is that you should never settle for less; you need to know what you want and work hard to get it,” she reveals.
She highly regards, Bonang Matheba, the African Queen B, a renowned media personality as her inspiration because of “her talent, hard work and her determination really does command attention and it deserves praise. It speaks for itself – she’s set herself apart in so many ways,” Lihle adds.
