Being a model is never easy, not just because of the straining requirements that come with the job, but because you also need to keep touch with other life facets. Because of this, you need to work extra hard to be on top of the game.
That’s what Nasanga Leakes, a designer, model and fitness motivator is doing in her day to day life.
“I’m a health and fitness junkie, I’ve been working out consistently for over two years now. Fitness to me is more of a lifestyle, sort of something that I’m accustomed to. I work out 4 to 5 times a week and I prefer cardio. Exercising to me is a natural stress reliever, I love to challenge myself and push myself to the limit,” she reveals.
The girl, whose hobbies include trying out new cuisines, traveling to anywhere with a beach and hanging out at cocktail parties with her girlfriends is keen on expanding her fashion line, El Afrique. She has worked with major fashion shows in the capital, which she also took part in organizing. The USIU student runs a health and fitness page, @whitneynasfitness on Instagram, where she motivates girls of all sizes and encourages them to push on with their fitness journey. Her blog Fit Kenyan Chic is a great source of health tips.
One of Nasanga’s inspirations is Mariza Villareal, who happens to be a mother of two and Serena Williams. Despite being a plus size model, the model has booked advertisement deals with Safaricom, Scanad and a Consolidated Bank billboard.
Her @el_afrique_ fashion page is characteristic of African print, chic and elegant outfits for both women and men. Her desire is to be the go to designer when celebrities need red carpet outfits. It’s also her plan to dress any lady who loves looking good any day. Check out her stunning outfits:
